No. Most of our students start with no background in therapy. What matters is curiosity, commitment, and the willingness to practise. We’ll give you the skills step by step.
No. You don’t need a degree or a list of certificates. What you do need is enthusiasm, curiosity, and the willingness to learn. We’ll give you the knowledge and skills step by step — you just bring yourself and an open mind.
For the Diploma, you’ll spend 9 weekends over 9 months in class (around 120 hours), plus practice, reading, and case studies in between. That works out at about 450 hours of learning time.
The Foundation is 4 weekends over 4 months (roughly 150–180 hours).
The Distance Learning course is self-paced — most students complete it in 120–150 hours, but you can take as long as you need.
- The Diploma qualifies you to practise professionally with routes into major accrediting bodies.
- The Foundation Diploma equips you to work with basic issues and includes a coaching qualification.
- The Distance Learning Certificate allows you to work with clients on straightforward issues such as stress, habits, confidence, and relaxation.
Our training is accredited by:
- General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC)
- Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
- International Hypnotherapy Association (IHA)
- British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH)
- ACCPH
The CNHC is approved by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA), the same independent body that oversees organisations like the General Medical Council.
Yes — and it’s a key part of learning to become a confident therapist.
From the very first weekend you’ll start practising simple techniques with fellow students, then with friends or family. As the course progresses, you’ll gradually work with people you don’t know personally. This builds your confidence and makes sure you’re applying the skills in real situations — not just theory.
We don’t just send you off and hope for the best. Every training weekend includes supervised practice where tutors observe and guide you. You’ll get feedback, support, and the chance to ask questions before working with clients between modules.
We don’t believe in one big scary exam at the end. Instead, assessment is built into the course.
Each month you’ll be practising in class as if you were working with real clients. We’ll observe, give feedback, and help you build your skills. You’ll also keep a reflective practice journal to track what’s working and where you want to improve.
There are a few formal parts too:
- A practical assessment in Month 8 — you’ll be observed running a client session, showing that you can understand the process and apply the right approach to whatever issue the client brings.
- An open-book test you complete at home (you’ll have 4 months to do it)
- Three written case studies.
You’ll be supported through all of this. None of it is designed to trip you up — it’s about making sure you feel confident, safe, and ready to work with clients.
Yes — but it takes more than just learning how to put someone into trance. That part’s easy.
The best hypnotherapists share a few traits:
- People naturally come to them with their problems
- They care about making things better
- They’re curious about why people think and behave the way they do
- They’ve had struggles of their own and want to understand them
- They’re looking for a more meaningful or fulfilling career.
Some of our students were helped by a hypnotherapist and thought, “I want to do that for others.” Others felt stuck in their current job and wanted a new challenge.
If any of that sounds like you, you’ve already got what it takes. We’ll help you build the skills on top.
Life happens. If you can’t make a weekend, you’ll be able to catch up.
You’ll get access to the material through your student portal, and in some cases you might do a one-to-one with a tutor or join another group for that module. Sometimes we can stream a session via video link, though that depends on the weekend setup.
Missing a module doesn’t mean you fall behind — we’ll work with you to keep you on track.
Finishing the course doesn’t mean the support ends. You’ll still be able to contact your tutor after you qualify, and we offer supervision, community groups, and ongoing guidance to help you grow your confidence and your practice.
We offer a hybrid option. If you live further away or can’t travel to Glasgow, you can join the class live from home.

Our classroom training is based at:
Orchard Park Centre, 10 Gardenside Avenue, Carmyle, Glasgow, G32 8DR
Our dedicated training centre in Glasgow is fully DDA compliant — it’s wheelchair accessible, with no stairs, and facilities all on the same level.
If you have specific accessibility needs, let us know when you apply. We’ll go through the details with you and make sure the space works for you.
Not at all. Lots of our students feel nervous at first. Confidence comes with practice — and that’s exactly how we train you. You’ll build it step by step, in a safe environment where everyone’s learning together.
That’s completely normal. Many students worry at the start about “doing it right” or whether hypnosis will even work. By the end of the first weekend you’ll have guided someone into trance yourself — and realised it’s a natural, straightforward process. The nerves usually turn into excitement once you see it working.
